‘…a perpetual astonishment’

It’s spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you’ve got it, you want – oh, you don’t quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so! ~Mark Twain

Spring is my favorite season because it’s life after death. It’s nothing but blossoms and green churning the cold ground up and aside despite their fragility.

How do they do it? Tender, weak, flimsy blades of grass and slivers of pink petals force their way out, unstoppable. If they can do it, why not me? Why let what’s piled on top keep me down?

Spring is so young, it doesn’t know what it’s doing shouldn’t work.

  • We have had insanely unseasonal temps – over 80 degrees… I have spring fever, but it feels like summer in Ohio. I like the anticipation of spring… this smack in the face of heat is not right!

I love the newness of spring. It’s like a fresh start after the long, cold winter.

Spring is in full gear here in Tennessee. I am trying to cherish every moment before the unbearably hot summer arrives. I have a feeling that it will be here much earlier than usual.

  • By February, I am tired of winter, to the point of irrationality. And then spring surprises me and reminds me why I endure it all.

There is no spring without winter. And I am no longer willing to live in a place without spring.

  • It doesn’t seem like you should be posting about spring fever again already. Was it already a year ago you talked about your spring walks? Man, does time fly.
