Don’t be shy

Today is National Delurking Day.

What you do with this information is a personal choice. Only you can decide.

I think you will look beautiful if you take off the Groucho glasses and say hello.

I rarely have anything profound to say, but I admit I’m president of the LLC — Lifenut Lurkers Coalition.

  • Bethany

Hi. : ) I don’t have a blog, but I love reading lots of them! Perhaps if I ever get married and have kids, I’ll have more interesting material about which to write. : )

  • How did you know I have Groucho glasses?
.-= Julie´s last blog ..This does not bode well for Monday =-.

  • Gretchen von Lifenut

Llama Mama! Thank you for delurking to say hello. Thank you for breaking the ice, too.

    Hello, Angie/Sarah Palin.

ShakelMom—I haven’t seen your smiling face here in a long time and I am happy to see you! 🙂

Hey, bro…you can be president for life if the other lurkers agree. He throws great parties, people.

Bethany—There is plenty to write about without husbands and kids. Travels, work, life philosophies, memoirs, hobbies, how fabulous it is to go through life not smelling of spilled milk.

Julie, all lurkers wear Groucho glasses. That’s how I picture all of you! That should be motivation to delurk, right? Although they are kind of cute and funny…

  • I don’t lurk but hellooooooo!
    .-= Beck´s last blog ..Guess why I took a little break? =-.

  • Do we need to delurk if we tend to overcomment? Maybe I need to put ON some Groucho glasses. 🙂

    *waving with both hands*

  • Putting on the Groucho glasses. They make me look more feminine.

Waving hand here…..I am Queen of the lurkers!
I found you via Mile High Mamas and live in Northern Colorado.
I will try to de-lurk more often!!

Hi, Gretchen. I found your blog via Rach (Pipsylou)…I love your perspective and your writing. I may or may not have commented before, I can’t remember.

  • Gretchen von Lifenut

Beck—Yoo hoo! Hello to you, too. Thank you for not lurking.

Heth—You so don’t overcomment. If you put on the Groucho glasses, I’d be very sad.

Lori—Yes, because without Groucho glasses you look like Danny DeVito.

LT—Hail the Queen of the Lurkers! Thank you for delurking today and I hope you dip your toe in here more often! 🙂

sarah—I love Rach. I am pretty sure you’ve commented here in the past, but we can call you a lurker for the purposes of today. I am glad to say hello to you.

  • You have probably one of five blogs I actually DO occasionally leave comments on. So there. 🙂
.-= Megan´s last blog ..Hope for Haiti =-.

  • Well hello there. I once was shy, but now I’m loud. Was a lurker, but now I’m free(ly) commenting. And no I did NOT just comment to the tune of Amazing Grace. I swear.

    Hi!

Hi. I don’t have a blog, but I enjoy yours.

  • Hello! I’m not really a lurker, but I am a joiner and I usually do as I’m told. So, here I am, commenting. 😉
.-= The Casual Perfectionist´s last blog ..Happy Delurking Day! =-.

  • Hi, Gretchen. I’ve commented a time or two, but it’s been a long time. I subscribe to your blog, and read it all the time. Happy Delurking Day. 🙂

  • Hi.
.-= becca banana´s last blog ..Quote of the day =-.

  • Gretchen von Lifenut

    Megan—I am honored. So there.

Jo—That is the first time here a comment has so easily translated into classic gospel hymn. You rock.

Mary-Carolyn—Hi! I am glad you delurked today. I hope you delurk again, no national blogging holiday required.

se7en—One of my favorite South Africans! I love your comments and I love having a blogging friend on the other side of the world.

Robin M.—Thank you! I appreciate the de-lurk and knowing you are out there. If you ever decide to start a blog, let me know.

The Casual Perfectionist—I am thinking of things to tell you to do…hmm…

Rachel—Thank you for the good wishes on Delurking Day! Any excuse for a holiday, right? I didn’t bake a cake, though.

becca banana—Hi right back! Thanks for delurking today. I really liked your quote of the day, especially in light of current events.

  • I stopped reading blogs a few months ago for my sanity. I keep only ten blogs linked on my iPod to sneak peeks now and again. Yours is one. You would think that would inspire me to comment more, but I lurk instead.
.-= Veronica Mitchell´s last blog ..My Tips on WordPress.com =-.

  • I don’t lurk as much as I’d like to. 🙂 I’m here!
.-= Melissa´s last blog ..Happy Delurker Day! =-.

  • Tweet me the next time you are in town. We’ll have a park date. When was the last time you’ve been to Rocket Park? They’ve made some changes.

It’s been ages since I last commented, but I still love reading your blog.

  • Hi. Ok, ok, I admit. I have been lurking.. 🙂 Enjoy your blog and your tweets.

  • HELLOOOOOO! I’m here all the time, but what’s a party without a familiar face 🙂
.-= Stephanie´s last blog ..For the Love of Haiti (updated) =-.

  • Did you make up Delurking Day? It’s a good idea, in any case!
.-= GretchenJoanna´s last blog ..The Promise of Happiness =-.

  • Hi! I am a pretty new lurker! 🙂
I stumbled across your blog from “Under the Laundry Pile” blog, and I love y’all both!
My name is Monica, and I am not a perv, hehehe, just a Mommy of 3 who love to browse and read blogs while I nurse my nursling. 🙂

  • Hello, don’t comment much (not sure if I have or not) but read every post!

  • Hello! A day late, but still commenting. 🙂
.-= randi´s last blog ..what fabrics do i pick for my quilt? =-.

  • trixiefan

I don’t blog, but I read many good ones. I don’t remember how I ran across yours, but it is one of my regulars. I love reading about you raising your family!

  • Not a lurker but saying hi anyway!
    .-= jenni´s last blog ..frailty =-.

  • Jenn

I don’t even remember how I found your blog. I read lots of random ones and click on other peoples’ links and am always finding new blogs to read. I tried having a blog once but it never turned into much. I enjoy reading yours though because you have lots of children and I have been told my chances of having kids are reduced. So I figured in the mean time (since I’m single and do not plan on finding out anytime soon if I can/not have kids) I will just read about yours! So thank you for sharing, and sorry for being in the creeper that just sits back and reads!

  • I haven’tcommented in a while but I still do read your blog!

  • Gretchen von Lifenut

Veronica Mitchell—Thank you for reading and for having me on your list. I am truly honored. And then there’s you, the first person who has made me think about making homemade mayonnaise (and much, much more).

Melissa—I am happy to know you are out there. You are one of the few commentors here I’ve met IRL, which is very cool.

Annie—I will! The last time I was at Rocket Park was probably in high school. I heard they took down the rocket, making it Why Bother Park. But I haven’t seen for myself.

Jill—Thank for reading and for leaving comments, if only occasionally. I don’t mind.

Sari—I still don’t feel I am a good Tweeterer. 140 characters is serious business. Thanks for commenting here. I still chuckle when I think about the Snow White comment you made. It’s true.

Stephanie—I am so glad to see you here. Familiar faces are wonderful because I know you have my back if it gets too rowdy in here.

GretchenJoanna—Nope! I don’t know who made it up, but I heard the bandwagon and jumped on without really looking. I’ve been aware of other delurking days, but this is the first I have participated in.

Monica—Hello! I am so glad you are here. Heth, who is probably folding laundry as I type this right now, is such a good blogging friend and I am glad you “know” her, too.

Harmony—I am so glad you delurked today. I took a look at your blog and I have to let you know I am always amazed by pastor’s wives. I think you are a special breed. It’s a full-time job on it’s own, plus you are a mom of 3 busy boys. Wow. Thanks for delurking!

randi—Hi! It’s great to see your name on the list. I hope life has settled down after your busy December. Randi is a new Mother-In-Law, everyone! 😉 He’s a lucky guy. I hope to meet you IRL sometime, considering we live relatively close.

trixiefan—Thanks for delurking. I am a Beatrixie Fan, so we definitely have something in common. I hope to see you around here again.

jenni—Another familiar face! You can help Stephanie as co-bouncer if things get out of hand.

Jenn—I am glad you found my blog. My children provide plenty of material, so don’t go away. And don’t be shy about commenting in the future.

Melany—My other favorite South African is here! I feel like the International House of Pancakes this morning. And I am SO JEALOUS that it’s summer there. Go sit by a pool or something. I’m glad to see you here. 🙂

  • hi! I’m terrible about lurking and not commenting, but I visit frequently! 🙂 love your wit and your precious family!

  • Poking in a bit late to say hi!

Hi! I’ve been having trouble viewing your blog for the last few weeks, all your pictures vanished but my lovely husband managed to fix it for me today so now all is well with the world again!

  • hello! I visit via Megan @HalfPintHouse. I have 5 in a row at home, girls outnumber boys 4-1, but I nod at the adventures from your house with a smile. Blessings!

  • Gretchen von Lifenut

jamie b—Thank you so much for the kind words and for visiting. I’ve decided I will no longer call lurkers “lurkers” but Pre-Commentors.

Melanie—It’s always good to see you and say hello! I am glad you are out there. Sending love your way.

Gretchen—I love all Gretchens. I can’t help it. I am so glad you are out there, commenting, confusing me. There are a lot more of us that people realize. We should take over the world.

Rachael—Yay for husbands who are handy when it comes to computers. My husband has saved the day for me more than once. I am glad the photos are back because sometimes all I do it post photos when I can’t think of anything else to post!

kristy—Any friend of Megan from Half Pint House is a friend of mine! 🙂 I am always happy to meet other moms who closely identify with the shenanigans around here. I’d love to hear from you again.

  • Dawn

I am delighted to delurk. Keep up the great read! Hugs to all! 🙂

  • Heidi

Hello! I don’t have a blog and I don’t have too much to say but I do really enjoy your blog – maybe because I have seven kiddos myself and am always happy to read what other big families are up to and facing and yours looks wonderful! Have a great day.
