My mom’s feet, 1946.

Today is her birthday.
If it’s anything, everything, anywhere? As long as it’s happy, it’s hers.
That’s my wish.

My mom’s feet, 1946.
Today is her birthday. If it’s anything, everything, anywhere? As long as it’s happy, it’s hers. That’s my wish. The first time I met Grandma Dorothy, she was standing in the entryway of her Albuquerque home. It was late afternoon, June, and I was engaged to her grandson. She welcomed me with warmth and we had a lovely few days becoming acquainted. Grandma Dorothy cooked and laughed and I liked her so much. I still do.
Today is her 90th birthday. She lives in Phoenix now, sharing a home with my husband’s aunt Karen. We wish we could have journeyed to celebrate with her today. We are blessed to have spent time with her in July, when we travelled to California for the big wedding. Grandma Dorothy, we love you. Why did you plan your moon-bombing on Friday at 4:30am MST? That is much, much too early to drag the kids out of bed to watch online. Also? Please don’t mess up the moon too much. I like it. |
